Hey Claudia! I actually started with custom GPTs too - just recently started using projects more.
Functionally, they’re similar, but here’s the big difference: custom GPTs can be shared publicly & can connect to APIs, while projects "remember" context across all chats in the folder.
So if I have a business strategy project, I can have one chat about pricing and another about operations, and it still connects the dots across both. It gets smarter the more I use it - like a living workspace.
With custom GPTs, each chat is one-and-done. Once it crashes or resets, the context is lost.
Some people think of projects as an AI environment that grows with you - and that’s definitely been my experience so far!
Yes I do have projects too - they are awesome. I use gpts for the very repetitive tasks and regularly update the knowledge files with more recent data. Throwing spaghetti at the wall on a daily basis over here!
This nails it. Context is the real multiplier. I’ve gone from chaotic, copy-paste prompts to scalable, high-quality output once they treated ChatGPT like a team member.
That’s super helpful, tam. Btw, been really impressed with your daily newsletter lately! Feels like you’ve locked in your direction and know exactly who you’re speaking to. Big congrats!
This is so helpful! Loved this series you wrote.
A question for you - why didn’t you build a custom GPT just for Linkedin posts? Are you getting better results just with projects?
Ive done a similar process from yours but then added custom gpts for each specific platform.
Thank you! ❤️

Love that!

Aren’t we all 😁

Exactly, a little bit of up front strategy work (that we should all be doing anyway) goes a long way 🙂

Thanks Luan! It’s a big relief to have a focus. Now just to execute. Hope all is good on your end!
